Lessons from the past: Why Tories oppose AV.
'Vote no to AV' group accused of being 'a Tory front organisation'.
Or, if you prefer, an impartial
guide:
Some other people and organisations advocating a NO vote in the referendum:

Yes thanks for that I could have gone on with a much longer list. I still think the list shown sums it up well. Which side are you on, boys?
ReplyDeleteI wasn't entirely convinced before but with Dear Unite saying Yes and the RMT, GMB and UNITE saying No then i'll definitely voting No.
ReplyDeleteDearunite always on the wrong side for the wrong reasons.
It's interesting that John McD is in a minority of the Labour Left in supporting AV.
ReplyDeleteIt's also interesting that dearunite doesn't list Clegg as one of the supporters. Embarrassment?
Interesting that Respect, Jerry Hicks's party, is also calling for a no vote - http://www.voterespect.org/2011/03/against-alternative-vote-yes-to-pr.html
ReplyDeleteAnd Jerry isn't listed on either side in the posting. Does that mean that dearunite forgot to put him on the list just under Cameron?
I think that confirms that this site is not run/owned/controlled or financed by any political party or other organisation doesn't it? Unlike some sites I could mention.
ReplyDeleteRather than concentrating on who will be voting a particular way would it not be better to focus on their reasons?
ReplyDeleteAm I being cynical in observing that the majority of Labour MPs are opposed to AV whilst they are happy to have a disprortionate influence on the election of the Labour Party leader using a very similar system?
ReplyDelete'Leading No campaigner, Labour's Margaret Beckett said the "amazing" result was "better than I had hoped". '
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that a lot of FPTP supporters support PR?
ReplyDeleteAs usual Dearunite is on the losing side.
ReplyDeleteidiot. dearunite.com opposed the election of the Con-Dem government. Presumably you did too. Is that therefore the wrong side to be on?
